Coming to Montreal for the August Long Weekend...

Hello MTLTA's!
I'm a TOTA noob coming up to the city for the august long weekend with the gf. I've had a look through the masterlist and visitors thread but I thought I'd ask anyway.
She and I love the House and trance and will party until the sun rises as long as the club is still open. I'm eyeing Stereobar and Parking, and we're almost definately going to hit Picnik Electronik on the sunday as we love the outdoor shenanigans. (We're missing Sasha and Misstress Barbara by ONE DAY. Stupid full-time job...) I also have to spare at least one night for an Indie-rock club. She works at a bar here that sees an assload of bands come from Montreal (does Froot Fly ring any bells?)
So, TAs, give me your recommendations.
BONUS: She has 8 yrs of french immersion. I have -all.
DOUBLE BONUS: Our hotel is on Pres. Kennedy so not far from club district (i think?) |

let me see, August long weekend in the rest of the country in Monday, August 6th eh? Not a civic holiday for us (blame it on Saint-Jean Batist).
Anyhow, that is Gay Pride week (ending on Sunday - Aug 5th, but people will still be dancing on Monday morning).
you like trance and house .. well, Danny Torrence at Stereo on Saturday night, and Peter Rauhofer at Stereo on Sunday night (and no they don't close at 6am ... keep dancing until noon for those dates).
about trance, no idea where to go buddy, but Parking will not be Trance.
don't know who is at circus on those dates, so can't help you there .. and for sure do the Piknic Electronik (if you still have energy from the night before). |
