I prefer, "you better start showing some peace, love and respect, or I'll break your ing faces!" over PLUR seeing that is where that actually came from. Gotta love a real DJ like Mr. Bones who plays real music like Techno.

Is it just me or does Carpe Noctum remind anyone else of one of Tiesto's other tracks.

Basically sharing the sentiment of everyone else. The music wasn't horrendous by any means. I enjoyed the opening DJ's a bit more since I was still in physical shape to enjoy everything.

Tiesto played some tracks I really liked early on but the minute he got on it turned into more of a madhouse than it already was and it just wasn't worth it anymore.

I didn't dare fight my way to get close to the decks but from the screens you could see he wasn't being responsive to the crowd at all.

Maybe he was immersed in his own world or whatnot but it didn't matter to me. The poorly ventilated venue and the heat just ruined everything for me.

The only pluses for me was I heard a few tracks that I liked that I'd never heard before. Some made me go wow i really like that but those tracks were far in between though.

The one promoter who got us through the line quickly and even when I forgot to pick up my ticket first he allowed me to get it and come right back up to the door w/o going back into the line.

And I also met a romanian couple that was really cool. Always a plus when you meet awesome folks but I bet I was a complete bore when I was just too irritated by the heat. I wish I had a thermometer in there to see what the temperature was. I've played tennis in 95 degree weather and it's been a while since I've felt like I was going to pass out.

I totally understand what you mean about the heat and lack of ventilation since I've experienced the same exact type of situation in Dallas at other big events here. That is why I try to make posts on our local Dallas dance music forums alerting the promoters and people reading the forums PRIOR TO the event of all the potential pitfalls that could occur that I've experienced at past shows, many of which you've described in terms of lack of logic and reason when it comes to the different lines for ticket holders vs. ticket buyers vs. will call. Also, i've been in situations where the heat is totally oppressive and draining with no ventilation or breeze and that completely detracts from any enjoyment one was expecting to have when you are just miserable. I'm just hoping that our local promoters up here have finally figured all of this time over time and have ensured that the place isn't completely oversold and packed to where you can do nothing but stand in your square foot of space.

How long was Tiesto's set? What time did the venue, Bar Rio close?

I prefer, "Tap out or Pass out", nothing sucks worse than getting caught in a triangle choke.

The Armin/Oakey/Junkie XL show (2005) at the Black Forest Theater was HOT and no ventilation.

I'm thinking i'll be up there about 10-ish. Hopefully that's early enough. Doesn't it officially start at 9? I think Kean is the opener.
I'll text you when I get there. i just need to find out where this place is.
