Well, they went on marketing their nights wrong.
Not many people want to party hard Sun night... Not to mention their headliners for those nights weren't up to the standard that people would want to party on a Sunday for. (Judge Jules? C'mon. The Thrillseekers? Good act, but not many people would come to see the Thrillseekers by itself) |

Republik didnt happen because there wasnt enough support behind it. Originally they wanted to do a saturday night similar to how a lot of nights in Europe operate. Start a bit commercial and bring in a headliner/underground dj late in the night.
Sadly Toronto wasnt ready for that. The commercial crowd headed for the hills at 2am and the underground crowd was "too cool" to be seen with "ginos from woodbridge". Hence the end of that night.
But i digress... you should check out sats these days. All house all night. A mix of commercial house and harder stuff. It looks like for the most part we have managed to ween that crowd off the pure top 40 junk. |

Outside of the city? Like where?? Thornhill right across from the Promenade mall?? Or maybe Oshawa? That's a in great idea. Make it as hard as possible for all the people living downtown to go party so it's doomed either way. |
