Somehow I ended up here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jean_Michel_Jarre

Bored at work, I suppose. Anyway, the article states "Oxygene (although it wasn't until 1977 when the album was released internationally after the initial release in France that Oxygene became world renowned). Oxygene is considered by some to be the most important and influential electronic music album ever."

I see that I can get this from Amazon. Anyone here listened to this album? Thoughts? Recommendations? And, even better, samples?

Edit: found some samples that were not in the first Amazon link. Some of this reminds me of Vangelis.

have all his albums and all the concerts ripped from tv.. the houston and london concert is just amazing think they are from the 80's or something.. and the moscow dvd aswell where it was 1 million ppl and watched at it.. he has always been THE founder in electronic music for me..perhaps for everyone ;)

The songs are very relaxing and not your typical, slow, expected ambient.

We never say the second first name in French. He was awesome, now he's lost his creativeness imho.
