As a kid I would have been pretty amped if they said that if I followed my dream to be an archaeologist I'd get to beat the everliving out of Nazis.
I'm pretty happy now that they told the truth. |

I have these debates all the time.
I actually don't mind people who have a reasonable argument behind thier statements of the world being around 6000 years old, dinosaurs lived with us etc.. I mean, if they do know what they are talking about, there are plenty of avenues to question why scientists have come up with a lot of the thoery that is prominent in thought surrounding the issue.
However, Ken Ham's (answers in genesis) argument is seriously flawed, not because its "christian", but because it ignores basic facts of science. In that quote also, just because the bible only mentions plants as food source DOES NOT imply that all creatures were herbivores. Photosynthetic material merely provides a transfer of energy into primary trophic levels, which sustains the entire terrestrial ecosystem.
I think its rather interesting how things like dragons and great mythological beasts are so prominent in most ancient cultures, and I've got a book or 2 on the "to read list" sometime soon. |

reasonable arguments? ive never encountered one! carbon dating might not be perfect, but im yet to see any explanation that illustrates that the technique is a factor of millions out!

i dont know why its "interesting". i actually find it obvious, given that a lack of scientific knowledge has engendered all kinds of weird beliefs and imaginations... |

Christ... 1243 posts. I always wondered what it would feel like to be one of those inner circle guys that has broken the coveted custom status post count.
TBH it feels pretty . I'm still posting the same crap. :( |
