Help w/ purchase of speakers and cartridges.

This is my first post, here goes:
I got my sweet used 1200s last week and a Numark DM2002X mixer (I know that’s far from the best mixer, but it was only $100 so I couldn’t pass up that deal). Now all I need is some cartridges and speakers.
For cartridges this guy at a record store said I should by the cheapest ortofon ones I can find then switch the styluses with the better more expensive ones. That sounds like a good idea to me seeing as I barely have any dough left.
And as for speakers go I’m not really sure what to get. I don’t need huge 3 feet ones (My friends can let me borrow theirs for parties), I just want fairly small and inexpensive ones. Nothing fancy.
Any suggestions on what to get and the websites to get them at? I want to get all this stuff as soon as possible. I can’t wait to start learning how to mix!!!! |

| You can get cheaper carts at Stanton, pretty reliable too. I think www.123dj.com offer good package deals for speakers so maybe you can check it out. |
