Review: Psy-trance party in eastern europe

Hey guys, some of you may know and some of you may not know that I'm in europe right now on vacation. Mostly to visit relatives and , to escape from the work/stress of the north american culture, but also to see the EDM side outside of Canada. Didn't know what really to expect out here so in my first week I got invited to a psy-goa rave party in an abandoned castle in a little village called veliko srediste, near the romanian border in serbia. My cousin's friend knows the DJ and he is the one who lent him the equipment/audio system so we went before hand earlier in the day to help setup/tweak the system.

I arrived around 5pm and when I saw this "castle" i was like....holy , this is gonna be ridiculous! I have a video of the outside of it and a quick view of the inside of it that I'll post at somepoint. If we had a party like this in canada, it would be off the hook - so underground, dirty, ghetto... what an atmosphere. Plus, 8000 watts is nothing to laugh at either! (i think at least lol)

I didn't know what kind of crowd it would draw, or how they would dance, if they would do club drugs or what not but i was soon to find out.

I came home to shower up, eat, prepare for the night. Got pretty boozed (mmmmmmm pivo = beer) before with a few friends and headed to the village around 12am...still picking up i see which is kinda like back home, most ppl didnt get in till 1am. A lot of people were standing around, not many dancers so when i got out there busting a groove in the middle of the floor i got quite a bit of looks and attention. A few ppl asked me for e/speed which i declined (goin sober!) and couldnt believe it since i was dancing like that. A few guys even told me i should have worn a shirt that said "ja sam stranac" (i am a foreigner) or "izasao sam iz ludnice" (came straight from the nuthouse) haahha.

Overall it was totally different experience/vibe but nothing compared to the scene in canada. The dj played some really good tracks, but it seems they have trouble mixing and beat matching which for ppl like me (i pay attention to a lot of things when i go to a party) seemed like a buzzkill everytime i was in my groove.

I loved how it was in butt no where and people from surrounding villages still showed up, showing interest.

I posted this thread cuz I like reading reviews from people outside of the continent going to edm parties and writing about how they are and because it was my first party outside of canada, being a psy-goa rave one too LOL

my bad if anything is hard to read, its almost 5 here and trying to stay up late while being boozed and tired is kinda hard :wtf:

EDIT: also wanted to say hello to everyone and i miss you all! for the ppl at the trance cd party - i hope mark oliver is dropping some sik ass classic trance beats...for my good friends at velvet lounge i hope you're all kicking it hardcore and rep my city well! happy b-day hooper, hope you're recovering soon!
Also - post your outside of N/A edm party reviews in here too!

Sounds like a unique experience, dude. Quite a shame that no one else there wanted to dance as bad as you, but props for givin' her anyways.

if there's one thing toronto needs it's more psy parties. some of the locals are great, but the scene is in dead. weak.
