problem is, the place to be was always my house. i have the only party-viable place. after i said a big YOU to throwing any more parties, just no more get thrown. some people still call me up and beg me to throw another one "for old times sake" (i did a couple of crazy ass parties), but that, i'm not putting myself out for other people any more. i've had way too much of that already.

i hate you

I used to throw weekend parties at my house, since i had the pool + hottub. It was great, you would show up on Friday and drink straight through until Monday when you woke up and went to work.

Best part is that my tables/speakers are set up so that you can't hear a damn thing outside the house, even if it's blaring inside. It's a separate system that plays into the backyard. I can link them up if i want but it's pretty sweet. This controlled the Noise Ordinance problem... =)

I called it "Weekend Warriors @ Club Med"
(after the nickname my backyard earned...)

Nothing better than passing out in the hammock and then falling into the pool to get rid of a hangover. Followed by the pancake/breakfast feast sunday morning. I love when other people cook!

The scenario you are describing is usually the result of a poorly planned party. When you are hosting a party -YOU set the groundrules. You dont just throw a party by telling the invitees that come over and drink and bring everyone you know.

If you want to have a get together inside your house, call up people and tell them that its just for your close friends and no guests will be allowed. Strangers think they have no reason to respect your personal property so its imperative to keep them out of your house. If you want to have a big bash , you try keeping it outdoors to keep damage to your personal property to a minimum etc...

Throwing a big party is usually the best way to get yourself on the social map...friends bring guests who could be well connected people that you can get to know and get invited to their parties in the future and even hot chicks who you can get to nail ... and then you have another group of hosts who want to throw a party to make money and charge people to come in so even if you have to be on the lookout you will still wake up the next morning going ka-ching $$$

I'd throw parties if it wasn't that

1. I live in the middle of nowhere
2. I can't name 20 people I like :wtf:

I loveee throwing house parties.. haven't had a great house to have them in the last couple years, but back when I was in Lima we threw ragers in the backyard... who move the breakable somewhere else, lock the house buy a load of booze and let em go!

Ah, this thread makes me want to throw another party.

Perhaps in a few months when I've scraped some cash, I'll hire some nice, fat speakers and a sub, and let it all roll from there...

I have parties on my birthdays, it's only one day a year so if the joint is a en mess the next day I'll cop it on the chin and clean it up. But usually there is just heaps of empty cans and bottles, chuck them in a garbage bag and in bin - 10 minute job.

I have gatherings/get togethers frequently, few mates over and just have some beers and chill - I prefer them to big parties :)

Get togethers are nothing because you know everyone. Its house parties where people get rowdy and just never stop arriving to your crib.
