Someone might have posted this a long time ago...

but i thought it would be fun to do so anyways...

just curious...

i thought vinyl was to the point of being completely phased out until i saw Michael Mayer drop almost his entire set on it!

Opinions??

and if someone did post this before...

SORRY!

oh...

and kiss my ass!

Vinyl sounds the best, even if the record isn't perfect.

Otherwise: I don't really care.

I'd always love to spin with vinyls..that what i started to spin with. It's so easy to get around than all those cdjs. Sound quality is way better than MP3s.
The reason I switched to CDJs..
1/ less expensive. YOu know..DJS dont make money.. We spend more what WE have earned from the Gigs..
2/ better song selection
3/ I am getting older...I can't carry 4 or 5 crates of vinyls everytime i spin.. gonna hurt my back soon..:toothless

I would never be a lap top DJ...no comments.

It's fun watching people drop wax and execute perfect mixes (see: Lee Burridge, Danny Howells)

Other than that, I don't really care, so long as the DJ is putting effort into whatever medium they choose to use, and the music is good.

Chris Fortier played almost exclusively vinyl at COMPRESSION. :)

Vinyl by far, have much respect for DJs who still break out the vinyl. Really don't care for the whole laptop thing.

okay... lets make this survey interesting...

for you DJ's, if you were to choose either one of the options, which would you PERMANENTLY CHOOSE?

considering price, quality, pain in the ass, etc... everything that Joe mentioned above!

dont care really so long its a fun & great set! but for laptops i'd prefer to see abelton live w/ a ton of midi devices or serato w/ vinyls/cdjs

The reason why most people have a stigma about laptop DJs is because most of them are lazy s who don't utilize the tools a laptop gives them to a greater extent.

Also, many people have absolutely no understanding of how DJing off a computer works beyond seeing an "apple" sign up in the DJ booth.
