Can't be bothered to go through each one, but here's an example of how ridiculous these statistics are:
'During an hour's swiming at a muniple pool you will ingest 1/12 of a liter of urine'
Unless you deliberately take a few gulps of the water you are not going to ingest 80 odd milliletres of water, nevermind urine.
Let's say the pool has a 0.1% urine content (it's likely to be much, much less than that, to be 0.1% urine an olympic size pool would have to contain 80 000 litres of urine) to ingest 1/12 of a liter of urine I'd have to drink 80 litres of pool water. That's more than my own body weight. |

It may be a sketchy memory of a dream but I remember reading in a magazine that...
When email was just blowing up, some woman claimed to have 'made up' all these ridiculous facts and sent them around in an attempt to see how widely email could spread such nonsense.
I have never found a squished bug on my person or sheets in my life. Am I to assume that all these insects made into my mouth without me rolling over and killing them before that ??? |
