$4 keyboard at Fry's Electronics! YEAHHHHH!!!!!
also, maybe you have a load of dust underneath. Maybe the dust is closing the circuit between the key and sensor, making it seem like it's being held down.
Can of compressed air: $5.
new keyboard: $4 |

umm it is prolly the keyboard, but if both use PS/2 connectors take out the plugs and make sure all the insertion pins are correct.
my mouse was screwed up after i unplugged it several times. with just a pen or flat head screwdriver i pushed them into place and everything was better.
if its USB, dunno. get a spyware program or new periphs

| hm... so its that likely its a hardware issue? I dont understand firstly why it would happen infrequently, and why logging off and on would solve it then... |

if rebooting helps, then its likely a software deal. jizzing on your arrow keys cannot help however

well with windows there isnt really a keyboard driver in most cases. the mouse orientation settings could be effed, but that doesnt sound like the case here

yeah fancier ones have drivers, but most just use the generic one. i still think it sounds like a plug issue due to the erratic nature. but it also sounds like someone spilled something on one of the devices
