| he had a DWI charge I believe it was overseas, once ya have one of those Canada won't let you into the country once they find out. |

Almost correct - it was over a DWI, but you don't get banned for having a DWI. What happened was that he did not declare it when they asked if he had a criminal record (he thought it was a traffic offence and not criminal as it was just a fine) when he got his work permit. When they looked in the computer they saw the DWI and that got him a 5 year ban for lying on an official gov't visa application. He has since appealed the 5yrs as being overly harsh and we hope that the time will be shortened - its now been 1 year.
