You lucky basterds. I went to the College of Charleston and graduated in 2004, we used to come to Atl. all the time…my first party ever was Oakenfold @ The North Atlanta Expo Center in 2001. I live in Philly now with real job and we throw some of our own events up here… so to say the least I am very involved with EDM in Philadelphia.
You guys have no idea how good you have it.Dubfire played two months ago on a WEDNSDAY. Other then Winks monthly residency and the once a month headliner coming to town the cities EDM has been in better shape.
I just looked at the board for a few minuets and good god you guys have a who’s who of EDM in town just about every weekend night… its better then some of the line ups in New York.
Just to let you guys know your EDM scene is miles ahead of 85% of America. |

Also why the hell does Dean Coleman not play more offten in Atl, i know he lives there?
He played with us back in Feb. and he was great...3 track mixing all night and using the EFX 1000 like it was a computer. |

| I know a ton of Philly friends who just drive to NYC for the good shows. How many people live in Philly? Maybe it's based on population. We also have some great promoters in the city. |

| trust me, I've noticed how good we have got it this year. Holden, Digweed, Sasha, Garnier, Zabiela & Fanciulli, along with the trance jocks, and some incredible locals. This place is thriving right now. |

We drive up to NYC all the time, it's about an hour and 1/2. This month Daft Punk is playing in some park, Van Dyk is doing is back to back shows in central park and some of the smaller venues like Love, Shelter and Rebel are doing some great stuff with guys like MANDY and Farina...it's ing New York " Capital of the World"
Edit: The show that I will need a change of pants for : UNDERWORLD Live in Central Park with James Holden
Philly has a a little over a million people in it and over 5 million within a 20 mile radis...it's the 6th largest city in the US. There are so many theorys as to why EDM is so slow right now...the state is a pain in the ass about 18+, 90% of places close at 2am and my theory is that people in Philly have a much easyer time relating to hip-hop then to some music from London. |

I agree that this city has a lot of big names coming through. It is one of the "majors" that everyone has a stop in, so I'm looking forward to some good shows...
Is there a good site to keep up with whats happening in the local scene? I was recommended going to EDM Planet. Are there any other places to get those flyers or info? |
