It probably is if you're from Winnipeg. ;) |

I think it will be a very TiL type crowd....I could be wrong and I hope I am....but that seems to be more the norm around toronto nowadays. |
In my opinion the base crowd of TiL is the 'to be seen' crowd, mixed with people who go for the 'bigger names' - with bottle service being a massive part of their business.
At Exposed events, sure - you'll have the college crowd... and a few booths available, but it will be mostly people there for the music.. and less of the 'it's cool to be here' crowd.
That's just my perception of how Exposed will be, and how TiL has been when i've attended. |

I hope you are right. The scene in Toronto is becoming more about being seen though....and that is probably the biggest reason why I barely go out in Toronto anymore. Give me a place like CZ (although I've found the crowd there starting to change drastically) or a place like System.....that is the crowd I want to party with. |

i think you will have a little bit of everything there. its gonna be a really mixed crowd i feel because of where it is and what club it is. i think there will be a bunch of people who show up not knowing what is going on and just going cuz its the mod club. in my opinion that is a great crowd and a great way to get people into house music. should be good |

Wow guys! A Big thanks here. I'll more than likely go clubbin by myself as I don't know anyone in TO and as for work folk.....well they are work folk!
Definitely not going to be seen, and don't much enjoy a bar-star crowd - no matter how big a club is, but definitely enjoy some bevvies among other things.
I'd be going for the music and to 'hear the groove' - and I know you all know what I mean.
My heart is in trance, but I defo appreciate some great house as well - sounds like MOD is the pick (or Viva) - would it be possible at all for me to check out both????? Hmmmm.....a girl can dream! Doesn't matter much what time I finish my night..or morning as I don't leave Sat until late in the day.
Thanks again for all the info - you've all been a great help |

hmm... is this round 2?
i seem to recall you pulling similar tactics when sonic was about to open. you were -talking guv like crazy.
now that sonic is closed, and you're working at mod club, you feel the need to make TIL look bad to try and get people to your gig?
doesnt look very professional to me. support others, including the competition. healthy competition is a good thing. options are good. there is no need to trash talk. |

It's tough to hit up both Mod club and Viva mostly because VIva is north of the city in the burbs. Mod club is on college st, more lounges and bar/chill type area (similar to say a European street). |

LOL @ round 2.
Jay, I was simply giving my opinion. I don't see any '-talking' anywhere in my post, simply an observation. For the record (as you already know) I have gone to TiL several times over the past year, usually when friends are there celebrating birthdays. More often than not, I have enjoyed myself. And as a patron, as long as it's respectful - I think I'm entitled to voice my opinion within reason.
You bring up the Guvernment bashing - look it up... I along with many others on the board voiced our opinions long before Sonic was even a thought, and before Boa was even open - so get your fact straight before making accusations like that. ;)
Are you disagreeing with the comments that I made, or simply peeved that it seems like I'm trying to persuade people into coming to Mod Club instead? I hardly think that the post I made will be a 'difference maker' in peoples decision as to where they'll be going on Friday nights.
TiL has it's following, and Mod Club will have theirs... I think there is enough clientele out there to provide business for both clubs to be successful.... |

It saddens me that you have to miss that too :(
Have you seen them before? |
No I haven't :( - and since it since it looks like I'm a week too late to see Mark Oliver and a few weeks ahead of schedule for LOL I'm kinda sad
To be honest, I really don't know where I'm gonna go! I'd so love to check out the guv, yet noone has recommended it, and honestly I'm not familiar with the lineup for the 'Red Carpet' event
I'm the kinda gal that goes for the music. Sure I like to dress to impress as we all do, but I could really care less if there's 5 people or 5,000 - I wanna hear some good music that makes me wanna shake my ass
so TOTAs - what will make up for me missing Cosmic Gate at home??? |
