"Ethereal Trance"? Recommendations?

So apparently there is this "ethereal" kind of trance sound that I really like and was wondering if you all could give me some suggestions on tunes to check out.
Some examples of the sounds I'm talking about are in these tracks:
Outback - Minds In Motion (Draft 2 Design Remix)
Tilt - Invisible (Tilt's Supernatural Mix)
Djuma Soundsystem - Les Djinns (Trentemøller Remix) (the last 1:30 seconds or so)
Moogwai - Viola (again the ending/outro for example)
Sasha - Xpander
Stuff like that... Hopefully that makes sense and the term I'm using is the correct one.

Same goes for me. I also enjoy that "ethereal" stuff.

I am familiar with the stuff you listed (most of it) but I dunno if I would call them all "ethereal". To me "ethereal" trance would be trance music that has a heavenly or angelic sound to it...angelic or operatic voices, twinkly melodies and or ambience. Most of the ethereal feel comes from the breakdowns and effects. I would say tracks like...and I list them alot because they are the style I am most passionate about.

| I was actually going to make a thread however a little more inventive (I can find tracks on my own) but basically a thread on a more downtempo trance or "chill trance" and if it would take off. If I ever became a producer (and I might once I finish school) I want to learn to produce a non-dance version of trance music...not just chill mixes of trance tracks. There's already stuff out there like it but is considered more ambient/downtempo but to me...sounds an awful lot like a non-dance version of trance music...Schiller being one of them. |

Uh I post many of those same tracks because they are ones I like. But there's countless others as well. I look for a particular sound in my tracks because I like any type of "ethereal" music, be it trance or not. |

okay guys thanks for the suggestions (keep them coming).
i guess "ethereal" is the wrong term... but yeah sutff like "lolo - why" and "tastexperience - summersault" is that sound i'm going for... dont' know what kind of synth that is, but i love it! i'm not looking for operatic/angelic vocal stuff... i'm focusing more on the sound. |
