Real instrument as in a more traditional instrument (guitar for example). I think what gets her goat is that she knows music theory and feels that electronic music producers don't necessarily need to when they make their tracks, just so long as they can see certain sounds blend well together. |

| if she's really so concerned with the idea that edm requires no talent or musical theory knowledge have her recreate an EDM track. |

| Well, they're obviously correct. EDM is entirely fake; bears no semblance to real music whatsoever. It's made with fake insturments too, didn't you know? |

| Of course it's fake, I'm sure I saw the Easter Bunny & Santa fooling around with analogue synths in Atlantis on Youtube last week... |

An instrument that requires real-time, analogue play, I assume.
I've heard this argument before, universally from musicians (IE: people who play instruments) and almost universally from teenage ones. They spend so much time practising on live instruments that they get the perception that what they're doing is the heart and soul of music. It's usually believed that computer-music isn't "real" as in it's literally fake and doesn't count.
I once tried to prove the point the electronic composers were still extremely talented and could produce worthwhile art by providing some Rob Dougan samples. However, despite the orchestral arrangements, the only answer I got was "The drum bits are still fake. It isn't music." |

I've never really regarded the process of creating music very important. I've always seen the end product of music the most important regardless if it was produced by a duck or strummed out by a top 40 band.
All too often it's easy to see humanity putting up blockades to enjoying the world. |

hahaha
yeah, industry manufactured pop music must be the only real music! |
