Mogwai not Moogwai...

| If you listen to Mogwai and really take in the music, it is kinda like a rock version of trance, or should I dare say acustical version of trance. Look, all the trance elements are there. A repeating arpeggio or ostanato (sp?) that grows over time and trances the listener with a repeating stong beat playing to it in time. The songs build up, come down, and explode (just like trance). Anyway, I just felt like sharing that discovery. |

Ok, let me clarify:
Mogwai is a shoegazer rock band. Their music sounds like trance without the synths and 909's. Check out "Mogwai Fear Satan" for a good example of a Ferry Corsten style rock song. |

I've seen Mogwai live. They say their genre is "post rock", although I'm sure it doesn't mean much to most people.
As for it being like trance. Na! I don't think the structure is too similar, its how a lot of music is made.... |
