| the 2nd last episode of band of brothers focusses on the death camps in germany and u could watch the movie the pianist or schindlers list. |

I highly recommend that everyone at some point in their life go to a concentration camp. obviously, not very easy to do w/ budget and travel, i understand.
but actually going to one, it brings such a sense of what *really* it felt like to be behind those fences/walls. its such a creepy, eerie, depressing feeling....but is an experience like no other. |

I went to Dachau when i was in Germany in '01.
what made the experience even more...surreal, if that's the right word....is that we took a public bus to get there...and it's crammed so full that everyone who was standing up was smashed against each other. literally, no breathing room at all. and the a/c was busted...so it' was hotter than hell in there....made it *really* seem like we were going to the camp. |

I would like to visit a concentration camp. Or maybe even an extermination camp like Aushwitz |

I was told that all the death camps in Poland were kept as they were back in the 40s....unlike the ones in Germany that were made "touristy". tourist is a horrible word to use...but they've made it "nice" to look at....more of a memorial type thing...whereas the ones in Poland were just left as they were.
i don't know for sure, never been to poland, but would be interesting to see those ones too. |

There are this new investigation coming out regarding the Number's of the Holocust victim's. No near the 6 million jews, as there's nothing to support that number across Europe kind of deal, I'm wondering if that will cross into the wires.
ANd no I don't know too much about holocust movies.. closest and one of the best is Schindler's list. |
