thanks guys

that was about a third of the tracks I bought with the intention of mixing in a set like this. i feel like doing another, but i'm a few thousand miles away from my decks for a few months so nothing new until maybe january. definitely will still be making music though.

finally got around to giving this one a good listen... and i absolutely loved it. i didn't care much for the vocals in the first track (personal preference) but after that it picked up nicely and kept me grooving at my desk for the entire time. mixing, programming, and track selection are all really solid. my favorites in the mix were the El Farouki track and the Gorge track, which was an amazing way to end the set. i also really liked the fact that there were a lot of tunes with natural sounding instruments - saxophones, pianos, etc... and overall there was a very romantic/sexy vibe to it, which i sort of expected since you made this mix for your girlfriend. if i were her i'd be giving you some sexy lovin' for this one!

good yet again, Adam! this will be getting many more listens from me. :)

cool

yeah i was going to open with this track "turning point" by ksoul and ra.h on sistrum, but my terrible sony belt drive wouldn't cooperate and I started over about 3 times before I decided to try another record, and that was the mari boine track.

you might know the ksoul and ra.h track from the opening of the efdemin podcast.

i went with the natural sounding instruments because i think it has a more tangible and tactile feel, a little bit of lovely imperfection. playing and instrument is an incredibly sensual thing to do, you can almost feel the fingers of the sax player in that counterpoint remix and the piano player in the glenn underground track

thanks for listening!

I just moved and I can't get around a firewall to access my personal webspace so please excuse the geocities.

let me know what you think of the mix. people seem to like this but the last one I linked here was pretty popular so if you like this you can check that out. It's called "tantra". (think its around 1200 dl now?)

Well done Adam, even though i don't play it i have been looking for a good deep house mix for the last while to change up things from what i normally listen to. I enjoyed your track as well, has some sexiness to it and the pads and percussions were very effective. I also love Dennis Ferrer -Transitions. I have had it since its promo days yet have never found a way to fit it in with the style that i play, you managed to do so quite nicely. Great selection, and although the style you played in the last one is more complimentary to what i play and l;isten to...this one worked much better imo and I have been listening to it quite a bit.
Cheers and well done

thanks for the kind words

honestly, including my track was kind of difficult and I have a slight feeling that it is a little out of place, but I had to include it and did the mix quickly since I moved the day after I recorded it.

It has a really cohesive feeling until rocco-stormy starts IMO. It's very analog-sounding, organic, deep, subtle. After stormy starts a more electronic, progressive, dancefloor section of the mix, which continues until transitions. And in a way that's the genious of the track and its namesake. Actually until I used it for this mix I didn't really see how it could have such a dramatic effect in a set. The track is split in half, like a day that starts with thunderstorms and then by afternoon clears up completely. In this mix, it rather nicely changes the vibe and gave me the lightness I needed to go into the glenn underground track.

I like this mix except for a bit of a flow problem when rocco - stormy starts. In retrospect I should have chosen a different track, also one that is not so popular as I enjoy breaking records.

sometimes I think about making a mix where all the tracks I pick sound really similar, but when it comes to it I can't seem to let myself do that.
