| Nice vtech. Of all the clubs that have come and gone. I really miss CentroFly and Arc the most. Centro-fly BEFORE the renovations. The renovations in my opinion were a huge mistake. It killed the sound and vibe in there. Arc was simply amazing. |

What you might ask? Believe it or not.....CROBAR! Yes, Crobar. I miss that ing club. I really do. Thinking back.....some of best nights I have had out in NYC have been at Crobar. Everything from the big dance floor, the mezzanine chill out couches, the tunnel going into the main room, the go-go dancers, those crazy ass lights that dropped down from the ceiling, the c02 cannons, the (for the most part) friendly staff.....miss it all. Since Crobar closed, NYC has been deprived of the SICK DJ talent that used to fill our weekend calenders. No other club in NY was booking better talent on a consistent basis. At no other club in NY (or America for that matter) could you see Sander K, Ferry Corsten, and Victor Calderone all in the same month. Yeah we all bitched about the venue from time to time.....but I really wish it was still here. It's god damn shame a bottle service club is taking over. Sanders residency there was bar-none the best party in NY at the time.......every time Ferry came it was like the old school trance crowd reunion.....and Victor Caderone was always a circus in Smurfville. I have a bunch of awesome pics/vids from Crobar that I'm going to post soon....just to lazy to do it now.:toothless

Missed it since it closed...still refuse to go to Pacha. Hopefully a replacement will come around sometime soon. As of now there is no place with that same type of vibe. |

I agree as well. Crobar sure had some SIIICK ASS residencies. Come to think of it, who would have thought we would all have been able to go see Sander *AND* Ferry for FREEE on guestlist prior to that? Or be persuaded to go check out other artists you weren't familiar with because the party was FREE on guestlist. One prime example, I totally became exposed to James Zabiela BECAUSE of his debut night at Crobar one JULY a few years back that was free on guestlist. I was totally blown away by that night. After that, I became more curious in exploring genres other than trance so yes I definitely remember that as a pivotal moment.
Fundacion Nights ftw :tongue2
yea i have NEVER liked Pacha since the beginning. Really tried to like the club too but I *STILL* don't. |
