| I've got a modded box with an X3. Never knew you could upgrade the processor. I think the stock CPU is 733Mhz so how much of an upgrade can you actually do? |

You can get a procressor which doubles the speed.
I had done some reading on the matter a couple of years ago, when I started modding xbox's. I came to the conclusion that it really was not worth it.
Don't know what the price is now, but surely you could just build a media center PC instead, which would perform a lot better.
The CPU upgrade does not help for playing Xbox games. |

why bother?
get a new PC or 360 or ps3...all of which will actually use the new power| |

I'm guessing it's handy for the XBMC (http://www.xboxmediacenter.com/ ) and other uses people have found for the Xbox.
After all, you can get it for around 80 bucks now refurbished and it makes a better Media Center than many if not most of the $1000+ offerings with an upgraded hard drive. |
