The Melbourne Shuffle (pg. 5)

I actually don't see it much here in Adelaide, which is weird considering our proximity to melbourne and how 'rave-ey' (rhymes with gravey lol) the dance music scene here is.

Phat pants abound though.

p.s this is huge in Singapore/Malaysia because of all the exchange students who picked it up here then went home.

huge is an understatement.
it used to be wanna be rappers hanging out at malls trying to freestyle.
now its wannabe ravers who hang out at malls and shuffle in front of boutique windows to the music from their cellphones.

Lol yup, well I do. I do it at the clubs in my area (Montreal) all the time, since nobody ever does it here it's more unique :D I love it. I'm still trying to improve though.

it used to be so good to watch in a club, now unfortunately we have a new generation who have come up and think that they are fully sick ravers who can do it and have killed it with some harstyle in stomp :whip: :whip:

i much prefer watching this these days :p

i lol'd again.

I remember that from a couple years ago...I can't tell you the number of times somebody busted into "uh oh, uh oh, oh bang bang bang bang!" during drunken nights.

Have you seen non-candy-raving-tools do it in person?

I think most people who do it look stupid, so in a way I agree with you; but get someone good, who isn't trying too hard, and doing lame hat tricks and air-kickZ and it can be amazing. Videos don't convey it too well either, you kind of have to be there.

Even though people can look stupid doing the shuffle (I'm sure I do), it's a hell of a lot of fun, so why the not?

Also, I think popping is great for "jumpy" music like rap and electro, but for more fluid music like trance and techno, the shuffle works a lot better.

unfortunately the new "cool kids" have changed the style dramatically, it seriously looks like they are having an epileptic fit :nervous:
stomping is just ugly and seriously looks so stupid
