i still dont understand why a hardrive that has software to play music is so fvcking expensive?

what i hate most is the bull re over iTunes and ipods not being able to play all the content you want. wicked homosexuality.

thats why people hax0r them and put linux on them

then they can install wolf3d and be leet on the train until a jock punches them in the stomach and walks off with their ipod

did i mention im getting an ipod tomorrow.. mum got me one as a gift. i'm now part of the elite few (billion) who read mx and listen to their ipods. i'm as unique as they come baby.

...and the fact that iTunes and Quicktime try to take over your computer!

I have three iPod owners in my household, all technically retarded, so I have to do everything for them. :whip:

yeah, my dad needed help to begin with. but i wasnt much help coz i couldnt fathom why an "mp3" player would only play certain mp3s! ing gay.

i have winamp on my PC since ever, never ever had a problem with it and it doesnt try and take everything over like you say.

I use foobar, cos its the best for geeks :p

I've got the beta of Songbird. Its made by mozilla and it hopes to be a media organiser and web browser. Havent got a feel for it yet though.

Yeah I use winamp, love it.

I don't see why iPods couldn't just be drag and drop (like a USB key), the whole iTunes thing just confuses everything. It's annoying also the way if you delete a song from the computer, it will delete it from the iPod.

yeah, agree 100%

there isnt a single reason why ipods couldnt work like that. but any mp3 player from a big company is going to try and curtail its uses to make profit. if and when i end up getting a player (really, i listen to enough music anyhow) it'll be a generic thing that just plays any and all music files. itunes right in the arse :)

The last player I had was 7 years ago.

I have no need for one anymore, as I don't catch public transport, and I don't like listening to music when I exercise/work out. Still have my old Sony mp3 CD player for when I go on the plane though, best piece of technology I've ever owned besides decks. :p
