I had started watching the show in the Hawaii season and kept on going till the Vegas season. Yea, last season almost made me stopped watching again (every Tuesday I was praying for it to end already!)
I hope things will be better for Sydney, though I still see some token archetypes around (Parisa and what's her name being catty; Dunbar is like the bad boy/pretty boy type; and Parisa, once more, most likely a Paula with self-esteem and attachment issues). I was also tired of the token gay guy; why not lesbians? No, I'm serious, guys. They deserve as much equal airtime as much as anybody else in the LGBT community. But perhaps, just like when they have black guys, they would eventually be urged (by production, the show, etc)
to be sexual in the manner that some of their male hetereosexual viewership would want to see them (especially if they had the femme look). Or they would just have one token episode that dealt with their particular issues head on...for few minutes before they settle their diffrences and move on, like they especially like to do with interrracial friction (or even intraracial friction, as with Tyrie and Stephen alst season; that, incidentally, was one of the saving graces of that season for me, because that was the first time they had two African-American men as part of the male side of the cast; asides from white cast members, male or female, the presence of two people with the same racial background of the same sex, has happened only one other time, as far as I know: Arissa and Irulan in the Vegas season).
I know the show its meant to be more fun than anything else, but sexual and racial issues are still a major issue in the real world; and don't get brushed under the carpet so easily as they do in The Real World.
