hey guys.

i just bounced a track out of cubase at 96khz/24bit ready to master and upon importing the wav file into cubase it is very slow during playback in cubase.

why is this and how do i stop it from happening?
Limit
well your cubase project was probably set up at 16/44.1 so you would have to change it to 24/96. Then import it again so it is not converted to 16/44.1.

i cant belive the headroom the extra quality gives me. i can push serious amounts more through the limiter without as much break up as i was getting with 44khz 16 bit.

Uhh, only the bit depth affects headroom (aka dynamic range).
No comment on the sample rate, other than I suggest you just stick with 44.1 kHz. :p

Haha, here we go again.

Don't forget to add the "PlaceBOs = true" registry setting in HKCU\Software\Steinberg\Cubase SX\Performance. That will usually reduce your CPU load by about half.

i know what you mean. but i decided to just do my final output at 96k/24bit because i will be having it mastered at a place that runs at 24bit. and if they use it then there must be something of benefit - even if it is a tiny improvement.
