DaveT's Templated Copy-and-Paste Response to these threads

The DJ Mag TOP 100 debacle of last year (and prob the last few years) has caused me to have no interest in voting this year and am basically boycotting it.

I'll vote for DJs again when it's renamed the "DJ Mag 100 Most Popular DJs" since that seems to be the biggest factor that determines your spot these days. Yes, a lot of the best DJs around get in it, but a lot who have no right to be in the spots they are in the list are in there simply because of popularity, PR, etc. And then there are DJs who should be right near the top who aren't anywhere close. And some of these DJs play genres I am not even totally into, but that doesn't mean they aren't a good DJ and I would like to believe I can see a good DJ when I see one, no matter the style.

If this were a legit poll, any DJ promoting himself or herself will have to done their duty to earn even the thought process in my mind to possibly list them. Knowing people or being decent at getting your name across boards wins no votes from me! Because none of that makes anyone a better DJ. Amazes how many people who haven't done that much tries to jump into these things!

Note this is a templated response and is not directed to any one person. If you have done your duty and the Top 100 becomes legit, then you have nothing to worry about. But if anything said bothered you, well that should only tell you something!

Yes, I'm a biznatch. But don't take anything personal. Just making it clear that I think the DJ Mag Top 100 is a farce...though dunno how I'll react to the positions some of my fav DJs might end up in. lol.

I liked his unfold album and set at EDC the best this year.

I did not vote for others since they were all crap, waste of money and time.

Like it or not, Europe will send us the DJ's more often who are closer to the top of this list...that's why I vote!
