I've got one of those little grey market, imported jap things at the moment I've been borrowing since 'dearest' managed to mangle my car beyond hope. They're horrible, too noisy, spine breaking suspension, cops like chasing them. All it's good for is going stupidly fast, using lots of petrol, going around corners at opposite lock, destroying tyres and maybe amusing for people 10 years younger than me, but basically I find it extremely irritating to live with.

Barely anyone drives them in Australia any more either, I will buy another manual transmission again though, mostly for that reason :haha:

yes the Nissan Silvia and 180sx = USDM 240sx but with the nissan hardbody pickup engine (ka24de). the silvia of the world has either a ca18det (the 89-90 s13 180sx) or the sr20det (90-93 silvia and 180sx). oh and suspension being spine breaking? wtf are you on? i owned one and the stock suspension is soft. you driving a modded one?

ang: some cars are a lot easier to drive than others. my 240 with the lightened flywheel was easier to drive cause it was a little harder to stall since you could punch the clutch back in quick and it would recover but it was easier cause it wasnt as heavy so less velocity to keep it moving.

LOL

the first day I bought my manual car I was so determined to drive it to the uni that night that I really did hop on the interstate and drove an hour away. I might have stalled a few times... in high traffic... but whatever, I did it.

lol sounds like me. i hadnt ever driven stick (but my father had one so i was familiar with the mechanics of but never driven it) and i went and bought a manual. i stalled a few times. not too often. then it sat for 6 months while i got money to fix the brakes and register it.

Least Ang survived the weekend, I'd suggest a quiet backstreet though rather than a car park for learning to drive. Unless he's got a really understanding insurance company that doesn't mind you hitting other people and cars. :p

This ones a 91 model with the 2L turbo. It seems to be heavily modified, mostly the engine with a bigger turbo and the usual exhaust, intake, intercoolery type things and god knows what else. But it's got a set of coil overs somewhere under there which I dunno why anyone would want to do to a road car, way too harsh a ride.
Stupid boy.
