In essence, isn't that what a lot of DJ's are trying to do already?

I'd like to see releases wind up as something somewhere between buying a track as it is now and an extensive remix package.
I just think that in general myself and others would be able to do a lot more than we're able to now, but unfortunately I think this is going to be something for the next generation of jocks. I think we may see something like this attempted over the next few years, but I don't see it becoming a realistic option for a while. |

Sorry Rob, The next generation DJ will be the Hyper Minimal dj. The crowd will be standing in shear silence for minutes and all of the sudden a loud THUMP! rolls through the speakers and the crowd goes ape :p |

I'd imagine the problem wouldn't be the cost, but the fact that, inevitably, people would start making & selling tracks using those samples. It would be impossible to monitor & regulate.
I'd love it, too, but for every person who'd pay a premium for it just to use in mixes, there would be 50 kiddos throwing their newly acquired Tyas Kicksİ on everything & trying to sell their own Reworksİ. |
