whew, thought this was another "please define xxxx genre for me" thread.
it couldn't hurt to browse the beatport tech house section, just omit samim - heater. steve bug has some solid productions and his livesets are littered with a lot of the more popular "tech" music. i also suggest justin martin, booka shade, gui boratto.
try browsing through get physical or buzzin fly. that should get you started. |

I agree. Terry Lee Brown Jr. is one of my faves, also The Timewriter, among others.
Maybe i'll get bashed but, there are two sides to tech house. One is more dark and techier, and the other is more groovy, lush and smooth :S |

Dude, it has nothing to do with beatport, it's based on the people who buy it. |

Like Beatport always gets the genres right...
No seriously, Beatport and AudioJelly puts most Electro-styled music under "Tech" instead. Same with the "Tech Trance".
You might think why i bother? Because i'm very fond of Techno, and when House and Trance merges with it. But all i get is Electro-styled stuff when browsing for it on Beatport and AudioJelly. |

well, they get the general idea for the most part. a lot of times "techno" and "tech house" are easily interchangeable, especially on beatport. i definitely see what i consider the "modern electro-styled sound" under "electro house" though. meh. |

| Beatport... where you'll find trance under techno, techno under electro, euro pop and mcprog under trance, deep house and tribal under prog house, ambient as 'chill' and acid jazz as 'electronica', hard house as hardcore, acid as tech house, tech house as minimal and breaks as DnB. |
