Dont' get me wrong, I love Chosmky too ;). Yes, he ubber intelligent, rational, logical, consistant, and articulate on subject and positions he takes 90% of the time. There's no denying that.

LOL :D. I rarely listen to AJ. And I don't really look at his for analysis when it comes to what he has to say but rather a lot of random information he gathers, when it's documented and sourced so it can be verified. He's not a seasoned intellectual with remarkable presentation, but if that's a litmus test for the value of his input as opposed his actual content (minus his extremem presentation and rants), that's a pretty ludicrous standard of evaluation. That's the problem with most middle-upper class/upper class university educated people, everything needs to be sugar coated and carefully packaged and actual content is of minimal importance. That's why most people who haven't had the oppurtunity to go to college think we're elitist dicks, and a lot of us are. Just an FYI, AJ does have a degree, but I forgot in what exactly. |

the stupid he's goin on about is his schtick. his theme so to speak. his whole meme is fear of a one world government. fear of another Neo-Con orchestrated 9/11. fear of American concentration camps. that stupid .
he's been like this for years and he's looking for audience. some of that audience is on this board. i could argue he's actually looking for accomplices...stooges
the real question is is he that delusional he really believes the crap that constantly regurgitates from his mouth, our is this some twisted orchestration just to drum up a following. i have no idea.

i agree with what you said re the middle uni class, but im not sure it really is a problem. in my world, one that has a powerful and reasoned analysis gets published. all the major contributions to human intellectual endeavour, the great minds that have forever changed the face of the world- they all have published treatises. im sorry, but i give less credit to those that simply run websites and sell mugs or caps. if that makes me an elitist, then so be it. i have a profound respect and admiration for real academic discourse.
the sheer amount of rubbish propogated by jones ruins any tiny useful tidbit that might be gleaned from his paranoid delusions. i simply cannot be influenced by someone that repeats things i know not to be true.
its why chomsky will go down in history as an important intellectual, whilst jones will melt away into obscurity. |

Well, unlike this Straussian NeoCon administration chickenhawk pack of liars, he doesn't base his stance on non-existance "WMDS" or imaginary "links to Al-Qaeda." At least his rants have some basis in fact, the Military Commisions Act, Patriot Act, and Detainee bill are total totalitarian and unconstitutional legislation and Halliburton has been awarded federal contracts to build "temporary detainments centers" which already do exist in the US.
Sure the guy looses his mind from time to time, but at least his paranoia has legitimate basis in reality and not some fabricated horse the establishment and their supporters spew all the time. |

Well, only time will tell that and yes Chosmky will definetly go down in History as an important intellectual. But yes, you have a point. AJ does hurt his position with his raging temper and rants. |
