I stand corrected. I was told it was produced by Miyazaki and never really bothered to check. It was directed by some guy named Isao Takahata and produced by Toru Hara.
And, yeah, Orbax is right: it is depressing. |

I don't know... Miyazaki's films are too dreamy and "empty". They're like animated fairy-tales: there's no drama, no hysterical laughter, no tension, no philosophical or psychological background... they're just cute.
