Not really. The analgesia caused by carfentanyl is reasonably safe if you get the dose right, and you'll recover without losing any precious neurons like you would from meth. Same thing with etorphine and other fentanyl analogues. No one is going to bother with the recreational use of either because they're so damned dangerous.
Probably the most destructive thing to the brain to have ever arisen from recreational drugs was MPTP. If it were not for its accidental discovery, however, we might not have as good a model for Parkinson's disease in mammals as we do now.
The problem with methamphetamine is that it causes irreversible damage to the brain and heart through chronic use, not to mention causes psychosis and antisocial behaviour in those who abuse it for prolonged periods of time. It really is very dangerous from every standpoint. |

Well, not every tweaker is gonna break into your house and steal your TV. I know some who've never much hurt anyone except themselves. |

well, spit it out. |
I changed my mind. it's not as dangerous to society because of less availability and much less people even aware of it |

| Thanks for sharing that. I watched the whole thing. I live in the rural Southeast U.S., and it's a huge problem here. I have an 11 year old, and I worry about the choices she'll make when she encounters meth (because it WILL happen). I had many friends get lost in the meth craze, and only a few have made it out. :( |

I'd say meth is more dangerous. Wider appeal, and it causes massive damage to your body and mind, unlike heroine, which, as I understand it, doesn't cause any permanant damage once use is ceased (correct me if I'm wrong).
But I dunno, I've never been around heroine, so I can't really compare the two.
And meth is some pretty ed up , all in all. Only done it once personally, and that was by accident (pills cut heavily with the stuff), like all drugs, I think it can be used responsibly, but it's so much more dangerous because it's so much stronger. |
