i bought a track over a week ago that has a pretty bad skip in the middle of it... i downloaded it twice to be sure if somehow it downloaded wrong (don't know if that's possible) and still the skip was there. i emailed [email protected] as i was instructed to do so by the website and gave them all the info they needed.
it's been almost 2 weeks now and i've sent 3 emails already and not one response... has anyone had this problem before? :whip: :whip: |

their customer service is crap. you gotta bug them a million times to get a refund. and if you'd like a proper version of the track instead, you're not gonna get it. they will do nothing to get a good version of the track, they don't give a .
if i were beatport, i'd contact the label the track was from and ask for a good version, but for some reason they won't do that.
anyway, you'll get your refund eventually if you bug them enough. ;) |

It's not Beatport's responsibility to provide good quality tracks. It's their work to sell that what their clients (Labels) offer. If a track isn't up to par the label is the point to adress by default. Sometimes beatport does have faulty mp3s and so on though.
I've once discovered one of my tracks was uploaded faulty (last 3 min of the track where missing). I offered them the wav file in the email I sent and they've corrected it within 24h without even contacting the label owning the actual rights on the track. Very quick and good service from my experience.
Never had to ask for a refund. I've never experienced problems with downloads.
[edit]But then again I only downloaded about 200 tracks thus far :). |

Can confirm.
I've found their service exemplary, on the condition that a) you provide your user ID and b) the transaction ID.
They usually refund me within 24hrs if I provide these. |

of course it's beatport's responsibility, they're the ones selling the products and if the product is defective, they should replace it with a working one or give you a refund. of course it's not beatport's fault in many cases that the tunes are faulty, it's the label's fault most of the times, but a consumer shouldn't have to contact the label in order to get a good quality track as that would be something beatport should do. but beatport will not contact the labels and ask for a proper working version of a faulty track, they'll just give you a refund and leave it at that. and IMO that's kind of lazy of them, but i guess they get enough money as it is, so they don't have to care about customer service that much. |
