Just wondering if any of you are hyped for this game like I am. After hearing about it for more than a year now its set to release on Sept 11th-12th for XBOX 360 & Sept 24th for PS3.
For those that dont know this skateboarding game is supposed to blow the doors off of the Tony Hawk series due to its realism, pro skaters, and the city in which you skate. The city, named 'San Vanelona' is a vice-city type city in which you can skate around finding the best spots to tear up. If i'm not mistaken a review I read said that it would take 10-15 minutes skating from one end to the other which is way wicked!
SKATE includes pro skaters such as Paul Rodriguez, PJ Ladd, Danny Way, Colin McKay, Chris Haslem, Chris Cole, Jerry Hsu, and more pro skaters that you can use and all come with their pros/cons.
Being a avid skater myself, I'm mad excited for this game cuz of the realism 1st of all and the whole city to skate through and find some sick spots. Here's the link to the SKATE website for more info on it...

I'd put money on epic fail.
People in general don't want a "real" skating game, and from the sounds of the previews this just sounds like a massive bore. |

| I read an article in an EGM magazine that compared this to the upcoming Tony Hawk game (whatever that game is called). Basically, they said Skate was boring, lacked any real enticing features, and just wasnt as fun as Tony Hawk. Dont get your hopes up. |

agreed. the only people who want truly realistic games are people who already take part in the sport/activity or have an equally high level of interest. Last year, the X GAmes only sold 138,000 tickets over 4 days. Even in golf, the WOMEN'S US Open sold over 100,000 for a 4-day event. |
