its all in your mind. You probably spend more money sending texts to your friends on a daily basis just saying hello. I do a mass text one maybe twice a week and I think people spend more money arguing back and forth about their bill via text, so stupid.
I use two systems, one I pay for completely so that my 11 thousand subcribers don't but its not as reliable. The second system depends on the individuals plan. For $5 to $10 a month you can get unlimited text and save your self grief and money every month. |
Spoken like a real promoter. It is simply not cool to send unsolicited text messages. Also, I don't want an inbox from 1015 asking me for my number so they can remove it. I never gave permission to add my number to any list and I doubt that anyone else on the list did. So just figure out all the numbers that you didn't get permission from and remove those. |

Well, that sucks! It is an individual person or a system? If its a system you just respond with Remove or Stop and if that doesn't work contact the promoter directly. Just keep in mind we are just spreading the news man, no ill will is being brought upon you. At least from my perspective, I happen to know who gets my texts and I try my hardest to be respectful to people about how often to send them. |

I usually send a mass email once a week. Texts I may send once in a blue moon from my own phone.
Unsolicited is not cool. Especially if you don't have a text messaging plan. Unfortunatley promoters must do what they got to do to get the word out. Which includes email, text, phone, flyers and TA.
Usually the texts that I get from a number tell you some way to unsubcribe. |

what about when you get 10 billion myspace invites to the same event and your email box becomes a broken record for worthless notifications? :whip: |

Nerd.
I think my 5 minutes of life I'd spend retaliating is worth more than the 5 cents they cost me.

I made a 'rule' in my email to simply delete those emails. Don't let them win~! |

| At the Last Supper Club here in Seattle they have a text message system where people can sign up and you basically have a good chance to get guest list spots to shows by doing so. I think it's a great idea but of course only when the person signs up for it. |
