Well, I'll be seeing u guys there... what do u guys look like??

i'll prob be wearing the meganite shirt, or if not atleast holding it up from time to time:cool:

So I dug through all my old CD's and found my favorite Picotto set, and possibly my all time favorite set by any dj. Mauro Picotto - Live @ Inner City Amsterdam. (Woody, if you're reading this, you're the one who burned that set for me).

Holy ... flash backs of how HARD Mauro used to be. Hard, banging, relentless, undulating/driving basslines... unpredictable banging drops, strong/sudden mixes... teasing a small sample of the next song he is going to drop, about 1 minute before he actually drops it... and that signature sound effect he used to make...

I'm picky as hell with music, but listening to old Mauro sets still puts me in awe. :eyespop:

If I got the chance to pick between a trip to Hawaii (hotel/flight paid for and everything), or to witness a 6 hour Picotto set like what he used to play in 2001-2003... I would rather experience a Mauro set. :wtf:

Although he obviosuly doesn't play like that anymore, his recent essential mix was ing MONEY... dirty minimal tech-house. Looking forward to what he is going to give us on Saturday.

6 hours!???:eyespop: :eyespop: :eyespop:

does LA get lots of techno dj's these days? in the 6 months I've been here I don't think I've seen too many. Maybe Carola but none else.

Nah, LA hardly gets any real techno. And when a techno dj actually does come to LA, they tone it wayyyy down, compared to how they usually play.

And as for a 6 hour set, Mauro used to be known for playing 6+ hour sets! The closest I got to witnessing that was when I went to Toronto in Nov. 2003... I saw him & Sven Vath play. Sven played about 2 hours, and Mauro played about 4 hours.

What about a trip to Canada? :wtf: See you there. Anyone going to see Digweed right after this at avalon?
SVGmethod
i will be there this Saturday night. It was a tough decision for me...Digweed or Picotto...I am gonna have to go with Picotto this Saturday night. I wanna hear some harder, techy, bleepy, savage stuff. I dont think Digweed would people to give me that kinda stuff. I am way excited for this Saturday night. This will be my 2nd time seeing Mauro Picotto. The first time was at Spundae and I was a bit disappointed. Hopefully Mauro brings it hard this weekend.
JCIZZLE!
an essential mix from july

^^^It would be perfect to listen to some music right about now, here at the office while doing these invoices. Too bad I don't have speakers!

I hope he plays the trance remixes of his new songs!!! Maybe he'll play the Tiesto Remix of Lizard, or Evribadi (Fonzerelli Remix)? Maybe his whole set will be trance? That would be awesome!!!

I kid I kid!!! or do I?
