Le Freak - Insomniac Delights [Tech House] (pg. 3)

Really sick set, would be cool to hear ANF (Le Freak) and Allied Nations play together. Would like to hear more of what was played up until minute 45, preferred that more so the the last part of set
Spin Laden
meh.

I'm always partial to fellow househeads but it didn't get me tapping like the last one. The only thing I can suggest is to funk it up, a lot like FunkenLouis' most recent set, for example (imo). I would like to hear a lot less minimal and prog techy, and more dirty, funky danceable stuff. Hope you take this constructively, it can only make you a better dj in the long run..

When i read this i was actually very insulted. I am fine with you not likng the style I play, that is fine. I want you to re read what you wrote carefully. There are many things that i can do to make myself a better dj. (you never stop learning, even the professionals make improvements everyday). I respect King Louis immensely on a personal and professional basis. He plays house more suited to a commerical audience and does it very well, in HIS style.

I appreciate you taking the time to listen, your support means alot to me. I do however think that you will not like what i do from hear on out. If you have technical advice or problems with any trancsitions, eq'ing and so i will gladly take them from anyone. I will however never change my style of music as I only play music that inspires me and speaks to me. Would you ask Steve Bug to play tribal? Would you ask Creator to play more like Tiesto? Hate the mix but don't tell me to play another person's style, I am not another person. Do you make requests when you go out?

Thank you to all of you who did take the time to listen and leave a few words. (I am not MrsPiemont guys, be nice to her this is my alt, not her.) I've gotten some very positive feedback from other sites and will stand by what i do always. I am always open to suggestions on improvements, but if you dont like the style of music i suggest you don't listen.(Its why i had Greg put it in the title) I am a househaed, i do love house music, going out and dancing to it. Its just not what i play and never will be. You will never see me go ask Eddie Jasmin to play minimal just because i don't like his style. Thank you all again i miss you, and those of you who do like what I do will have a chance to see me play in a few months for the ocasion of my record release party, along with some special guests making the trip from Germany for the night. Details will be coming when they become clearer. Take care and thanks again.
J

Ps

Spin listen to allied's new set when he posts it. He did a great job at putting out some very funky and original house music. I think you will find it alot more suited to your tastes. Very original stuff and his best one yet.

Outrageously well put, Jay, really. :)

...my comments:

definitely wasn't prepared for this!!! hehehe, it's just not the kinda music i typically enjoy, i enjoyed a few parts in there don't get me wrong but overall, honestly not my thing. technically, no harsh complaints :p

keep doin what ure doin man, i take my hat off to u and i look forward to your next mix :) oh ya and seeing ur ass sometime soon! :p
Spin Laden
+1 as well.

I don't want a mix too too commercial (and Louis' previous sets teetered on that, imo) but as a nOOb, how do you articulate that? ANF's style will evolve (most do) so lets see what happens from here on. Keep at it, please.

If dj'ing is like any other art form, then you will be surprised at what you can accomplish with hard work, given time.

As for Mrs Piemont..my God, you two were made for each other :p
Ravemontreal
I only had the chance to listen to it once today, but will again tomorrow. So far I can say that ANF has impressive tastes and music, and is by far more up to date and knowledgeable about new upcoming releases than I am.

Very interesting tracks in there, some I like, some I don't... but it's very fresh. I like Johan Ilves - Campfire Stories also very much. What a great track.

So you definitly know how to use those CDJs, and you have very up to date tastes, and considering you have been messing around with Djing since a short time... It has potential.

So the question is... what are you gonna do about it?

I'd like to see a review from Max Graham on here :stongue: ;)

'Gonna give it another listen.. probably at the hotel Sunday morning after the crapshow.

ANF is a martyr.
AlleN F
Lol @ Julien.

Instead of calling you a n00b like i wanted to Spin, I sat back and thought to myself, "How can I use Tech House in sets and get Spin and Erika to like it." I decided to challenge muyself a bit and do a part 2. Big Room Stuff and proof that it doesn't just have to be bleep and blops;). More dancefloor oriented and the Viva track was for you Erika because well...:p

I hope you guys like it, I'm very satisfied of this result and it is way more dancefloor friendly without have to resort to playing The Drill-The Drill.

Enjoy Folks, this was really fun to do.

I don't know about the specifics of dj'ing but in any vocation, taking in feedback from ppl and reacting to it is how you become dynamic in your field. I had to deal with a lot of that when I use to write a lot.. it hurt at first but you step back, absorb it, work harder and watch your work grow.. even if the idiots are wrong :p

ANF, I just hope you don't sell out and play trance :stongue:

For the record, I think Stereohead is more fickle than me.. I've seen the reviews she gave for Victor Calderone and a few others on here :p

loooooooool

dude
come on

im not more fickle than you
im just straight up honest about what sucks and what rocks.

even maher hears me go off when he s up a mix so, :p
Spin Laden
that's what imma talkin bout, ANF. Great mixing too, even n00ber here can hear that. Not only does this have big room sound, but martini lounge and high fashion boutique sound too :) Others sometimes gave you mixed reviews on your other sets on the latter parts of it.. this one got better and tech-funkier as it went on.

Keep it up :)
