This may seem like a weird question, and I am a beginner, but my library mainly consists of trance songs and minimal songs (as categorized in tech/house and minimal on beatport).
Is it possible to mix these somehow (I know its possible, but maybe its just out of the range of my ability).
Or do I have to just have to keep things as two seperate sets? one mainly techminimal the other trance.
I know how to go about mixing each tracks within each genre, but not really crossing over.
I guess that is where the skill comes in, but does anybody have any recommendations to get in me in the right direction? |

anything is possible, you just have to find tracks which transition between the genres well. I often go cheese electro -> harder electro -> elctroish techno -> bongo mania techno -> HANDBAG HOUSE. You could go from house to trance if you wanted, without any problem. whether or not your audience wants to hear trance is another topic all together. :p
Songs like DNS Project - Inv Touch or Rank 1 - Life Less Ordinary are examples of songs where you could go from electro to trance easily. Find songs like that. In the case of minimal, I guess stuff like gui boratto or aril brikha would be melodic enough to make a good transition. |
