Did anyone go to Solarstone? I was just curious if they usually start out their sets really slow? I was expecting them to be more hard (especially after Kosho's banging set - yeah!), so I was a little disappointed in the beginning, but they seemed to have picked it up later. What did you guys think?

i enjoyed the first hour and the third hour, but for some weird reason, he lost me in the middle...

kosho was indeed having fun tonight but i think he is kinda at fault as he should have brought it down since he was the opener and he knew how solarstone plays...he didnt set up the headliner properly which is part of his job as opening set, thats just the way it goes...

I thought his set was good [Solarstone]. I stayed until the end. Here are some pics I took:

Kosho's set rocked and that made my night! I was hoping for Solarstone to continue with the flow but I guess that didn't happen. I still enjoyed Solarstone's set but I think Kosho owned the night!

I agree. I know a number of headlining DJs who would've been unhappy with a banging set right before theirs.

I personally liked the Solarstone set because it wasn't banging. He played a lot of older stuff and a more melodic variety--the real "feel good" stuff. It was a nice change.

I actually enjoyed both Kosho and Solarstone's sets overall, but it was just a rough transition from something so banging to something completely melodic. I did enjoy it when Solarstone dropped "For An Angel" though! That made my night. :tongue2

Can any of the old-school trancers comment on Rich's performance? Was it as good as his previous sets here ala his set at Heaven? I wanted to come to this but I was too tired the night before from Compression I ended up passing out.

Kosho was freaking hilarious last night, he was all over the place. Although i agree, its the setup dj's job to set up the headliner, it was Kosho's cd release night/bday so i dont blame him for getting a little loose. His set was freakin great though!

sounds like solarstone was playing soft, glad i did not stick around for that
crischil
Yes, was soft. It's Solarstone though--I wasn't expecting much else!!

We'll leave it to you Josh to bring down the house! :)

You would've been disappointed on Saturday. Rich's set wasn't anywhere near as good as it was back in the day at Heaven. It was quite soft and cheesy :(

The night was still quite crazy and fun, thanks to Ernesto :p

I had such a great time on Saturday I thought Rich's set was GREAT!! Melodic, pretty and still can shake your booty to it. It was the trance that makes me happy. I loved how he mixed some older tracks with some of the newer ones. :D :D :D :D :D
