Most HDTVs have a built in ATSC tuner to receive the free over the air HD channels. I have USB HDTV tuner. I can watch all the local HD channels on my widescreen monitor. :)

enjoy your 1080i (and whatever HD you are getting, especially for free), i don't watch much tv, but when i do 1080i is niiice and so are the DVDs.
