| i agree w/ the comments above... avalon NEVER stays open past 2, so just being open that extra half hour made it crazy... he played a bunch of classic tunes and had the BPM up extremely high by the end... 100% sober and had an amazing time... plus they kept handing out free redbulls to everyone up front, it was pretty grand |

wow! thats great to hear on all accounts :toothless glad it was awesome.
im sad i didnt get to hit up Avalon at all this yr prior to its closing. as a venue it was DEF better than the Avalon in NYC and the crowd much better also, some great memories with friends there...
As for Axis that venue wasnt bad at all, for the amt of space and the nonpretentious vibe i actually wished there was a space like that in NYC
hey, maybe they will make that 2:30am curfew a regular occurence once the new venue is open???
lol im sure we can all dream...
cant wait to see the pictures/videos :) |

Ive been going to Axis and then Avalon for 12 years. I remember that if I missed a sat night at axis, Id tape Spin Cycle on FNX. Things have changed, but one thing never changed, I had alot of great times at both Axis and Avalon over the years. For me, its really the end of an ERA. Im really glad they picked Armin to close it out though. Great night!!! Blake Jarell really had a great opening set as well, so kudos to him. For awhile I was afraid Armin was going to close out Avalon with IIO -Rapture. Boy was I worried for nothing, he kept playing and playing, As the Rush Comes, Born Slippy... Once I get my head on straight and review a few of my video clips, Ill post a track list.
My highlights of the night,
-A fricking ridiculusly awesome mix of Markus Schulz - Without You Near. (not g&d mix, maybe alex morph?)
-Solarstone - Seven Cities
-Motorcycle - As The Rush Comes (Encore song)
-Sunlounger - Another Day on the Terrace (Opener)
-The dancer with the thighhighs!!! ;)
Thanks to Dave Ralph, Armin, and Blake!!! |

I really can't remember hearing an Armin set this good since like a longgg time ago at Roxy in NY or something - I mean dunno what else to say, I've been kinda "eh" about Armin lately but wow, lastnite was out of control, I was so ing impressed, seemed like every song he played for the most part was a straight out bangaaa and a lot of the tracks were new to me - I mean, I stoped listening to ASOT a while ago now (Not by choice I guess really, it just happend) So maybe Armin fan's that listen to it all the time will be like "That set was just like an ASOT episode" Or w/e you kno how it goes - Maybe that's why I thought it was soo good, because a lot of the songs I haven't heard before, hopfully someone there will post a tracklist so you guys can judge for yourselfs on the set. He had constant flow too and I didn't stop moving for a second...Definaly will never forget this set.
Can't really think of a better way for Avalon's Closing party - Thank you very much for this night - Innningsaneeee
:wtf: |

Wow, what a sick night!! Def a great way to close avalon....Armin blew the facking roof off....prob the best time i've ever had at avalon. It was full, but not packed to the brim. There was room to dance, great vibe, and even the lighting was top notch.
Blake open with a great set...i heard the last 45 min of it, and it def got the night started off well.
Armin came on and immediately started to own. He proved again why he is the king of Boston.
Some of the tracks he played:
Dash Berlin - Till The Sky Falls Down (Dub)
D Ramirez & Mark Knight - Columbian Soul (Gabriel & Dresden Remix)
Markus Schultz - Flying To Colors
U2 - Beautiful Day (Pascal Feliz Bootleg Mix)
Armin Van Buuren - The Sound Of Goodbye (Nic Chagall's Drumbeat Re-Edit)
Solarstone - Seven Cities
Bedrock - Heaven Scent (Greg Downey Remix)
Sander Van Doorn - Riff ( I think)
John O Callaghan feat. Audrey Gallagher - Big Sky
Sean Tyas - Drop (Dan Reaves and Niels von Ahorn remix)
Rapid Eye - Circa Forever (Aly & Fila rework)
The Killers - Read My Mind (G+D remix)
Its been 5 years since i started going to avalon, and I will def miss the place. I hope something bigger and better comes out of it, but if not, Boston is def in a for a treat with rising stars like Dubs (patrick) and Mark and Andy.... |

I love Armin I was upset not to make it up to Boston! I was at Tiesto & Ferry the ngiht before at Love in DC. If I had no work Monday morning I would have been there. Yea well he will be back around here in November.
Hope everyone that went had a blast! Very short set for Armin Tho... |
