Original mix is okay but rhythmically isn't anything new and doesn't really go anywhere, though the breakdown is nice.
The Oliver Moldan remix has some good ideas but is a little too disconnected and fails to build up the track as a whole, choosing rather to jump around a variety of elements which forms a pretty jumbled track. The Original Mix does have some potential- with a different artist on remix duties at least.
Are any more remixes of this one coming out later? |

thanks for your input... there may be remixes in the future. There will only be 2 tracks for the initial release however. |

| Walsh & Coutre have a lot of great stuff out. I've learned bunches of things off Jeremy. |

"This release is absolutely ACE! The original is very
very solid in itself, but the Oliver Moldan mix is
stunning. An epic techno builder layers oozing with
hands in the air appeal yet keeping with Moldan's
techno progressive edge. 10/10 on this 2nd release
from a label that isn't pulling any punches right out
of the gate."

Audi Logic’s second release is another welcome addition to anyone who’s into prog/tech/electro house’s music collection, after their first release (Ben Brown – Love And Solace) which tore through clubs across the globe (especially the 16 bit lolitas mix) I was expecting great things from their second release and was not disappointed one bit, the Original Mix of Capes And Knives is more proggy and the Oliver Moldan Mix appealing to a handful of genres, this is a wide appealing release and I expect it will do very well.
Original Mix
The Original mix builds nicely from the beginning with symphonic, soothing melodies layered and build to the main hook, with the male vocal speech “music owns you, house music” spoken throughout the track to the break.
The break builds with a light breakbeat with synths and strings building along with more percussion applied until the beats run in a 4/4 basis, another break teasing you before it punches and then it finally kicks in, melodies and synth washes carry on until building down towards the end.
The Original mix sounds fresh and full bodied, with longer intro / outro breaks for mixing than the Oliver Moldan mix.
Oliver Moldan Remix
As you would expect from Oliver the intro beats make for easy mixing into almost any track, the effects applied to the voices before the break are well executed and throw you off the scent before the hook plays.
The hook is mesmerizing and progresses with added synth strings, the voice I liked before comes back and things start to get going, building to a wash of synth and strings at the break where the track creates a warm soothing sound for the dance floor to enjoy a little rest before the expected kick.
And boy does it kick!
The wiggley basline pumping and classic beats pumping, I can envisage crowds of happy people bouncing off the walls in euphoric ecstacy, after only listening through my HD26SP’s I cant wait to hear it in a club.
Then the track slows for another little break before the, again “well structured for DJ’s” outro that would be equally as easy to throw into any mix you choose no matter what sub genre of house you are playing.
All in all this is definitely worth a purchase and will appeal to a broad spectrum of music lovers, not just progressive house aficionado’s, although if you like your prog, this should be on your shopping list as it firmly sticks to the progressive house ethos, the Oliver Moldan Mix would be my favourite of the two, I doubt there will be many a time where you cant throw that into a mix and it not blending well.

In all seriousness... congrats to Audio Logic for not just making an imprint, but a dent right out of the gate. Good work. |

my pocket hurts a little but I love the music and that's why I'm doing it. I hope to build it into something that puts Chicago and the corresponding talent firmly on the map in the scene. |
