3D absolutely destroys the top down view. Dont get me wrong; old school GTA is a good time, but there were too many times when I crashed directly into an oncoming building because I didnt see it coming.

That's because you suck.

I've never crashed into a building in GTA2, and I don't even do missions, I just drive around in cop cars all day getting chased.

Please dont try and convince me that top down is better than 3D dude. Seeing ahead of you is better than not seeing ahead of you, thats for damn sure.

And yeah maybe it is because I suck, but topdown still sucks regardless.

dude topdown is all were the GTA series got its original roots from. again letz not compare top down and 3D. We all know GTA got better once it hit that full-on 3D stage.

me personaly i enjoyed the top down alot better, but i guess you can say it evolved and went on to better things. Letz just see what GTA4 has in store for us. :eyespop: :eyespop:

To those who enjoyed the topdown version, wouldnt it be bad ass if GTA4 had some type of arcade or kwik-e-mart where you could go in and play London: 1961, 1969, GTA one and two. :eyespop: :eyespop: :eyespop:

That would soooo be a clean ass move by Rockstar if they actually went and pulled this off. I only wish. :o

does that mean every game has to be the same? they would of got boring very quickly if they made them all with that top down view.

The only advantage of the top down view was how fun it was to kill people and cause chaos with it...gave it a more funny view i guess.

GTAIII is probably my fav, and the one I spent most time playing.

It was the first 3D version, and I absolutely loved the colouring in the game. I know its weird to point that out, but something about how they did the shading and textures/colours just really stands out, and makes it feel more real to me. Vice city was an acid trip gone wrong.
