I just got back from Nocturnal and now I'm posting about it on the Internets. My feet hurt. Oh yeah, Paul van Dyk was awesome. I missed Benny Benassi though...actually the only DJs that I saw were Carl Cox and PvD...I failed.

Oh and The Chemical Brothers. How could I have forgotten them? Push the button.

PVD awesome? It was weak. He thought he was a rock star. The singers couldn't sing, the set was predictable, and the double encore's dont work for a DJ. Also he gave up on transitions and just created mushed up breakdowns before starting the next song. Which was probably going to be a song without the bass. Fade out. Next song bass only. And the singers kept say "give it up for paul van dyk" it got old. Not to mention, it was completeley planned. This whole live rock star pvd i am not buying. Last times I have seen him were 1000x better. Even Time of Our Lives sounded like crap at the end.

making pvd spin a 2 hour set is blasphemy. it should be at least 3.5.
and chemical brothers tore it up.
great nocturnal this year, beat the out of last years at least

Well it was the first time I saw him LIVE and I cherished every moment. I thought his set was good. As for the whole rockstar thing...eh. Number 1 DJ in the world. Let it slide.

Sorry to be so critical of your first time seeing him. My first time ever seeing a real DJ was seeing Paul van Dyk so I think he is great. But just the live thing must have been some kind of experiment to cross over and it didn't work so well. Not to mention 1 hour between sets...

Not to mention he was playing anthem and i started dying on the inside. I liked chris lawrence's set the most for the night. I dono, something about Platinum that makes me happy.

Yea PVD's set was weak. I liked Carl Cox's set the most. Unfortunately we were stuck at the groovetickets booth for a while since my friend's ticket wasn't showing up, and then the systems all crashed so nobody could get their tickets for a while - so we missed most of CL's set. I did catch the end of Uberzone's set. Man that was nuts.

I just got home right now a 6am. Man, the Macy's parking lot was f'd up. Got to our car at 4:30, didn't get out of the lot till almost 5:30.

Personally, I had a better time at Giant LA with AVB.

Im rewatching my videos and damn i forgot all about CL dropping cafe del mar. when it was playing it looked like i was the only one around cheering :(

Carl Cox needs to shut the up. Quit yammering over the records. I can see getting on the mike every once in a while to hype up the crowd, but this was like every ing song. It was annoying.

Oh, and pushy, sweaty, shirtless guys suck. Do you really need to be closer?

yeah pvd didn't get enough time by far.....less than 2 hours is not enough for pvd to bring it. but he still had one of the best sets at the party. he started off with some massive buildups, and banged it out the rest of the way. but the performers took most of the show away from him imo, and while it was interesting to see a live show, i woulda liked to see more pvd and less vocalists etc. overall, great set from pvd, not the best i've seen but still great, and if he's gonna do a live show again he better get at least 4 hours! i mean you could tell the ending was really rushed, he was just starting to play some amazing tracks when he had to end it because his time was up. now that was weak.
