hey,

had planned on buying a new desk to put all my gear on, when a friend of mine told me that its not wise to put speakers close to the decks/mixer because it stuffs them up.

the speakers i have are mackie srm450's and technics decks + pioneer djm600 mixer, the speakers on this desk would be about half a metre from the decks n mixer, would this stuff anything up?

just thought i'd ask and make sure before i set it all up...

thanks
DJTJ
It wouldn't "stuff them up", as in, it wouldn't damage them or anything, but the vibrartions that the speakers cause would travel through the desk and cause feedback through the turntables.

You would be better off putting the speakers on the floor, or perhaps on a different table. They can be as close to the decks and mixer as you want, as long as there is no common hard surface between them that vibrations can travel through.
