anyone can join facebook now and you can see peoples profiles who are in your network. im in my uni's network and the montreal network, so i can peoples prfiles in those networks unless theyve specifically blocked it.
if anything i use facebook more like an internet phone book/messaging system.

...or maybe because they want to be able to put up, say, contact information, so people they know can easily access it, but don't want everyone in the world to be able to get a cell phone # from the site. Then again, it may just be to spite you. |

I started a facebook a few days ago and it required absolutely no special approval.
No need to be bitter about it - somebody started it for his group of friends in college and didn't want any old on the internet allowed to sign up and spam everyone with stupid ...ala myspace. What is so wrong with that? |
