Hey guys,
as I do realize this thread maybe better off in the Buy/sell area, but I was looking specifically at places in the GTA.
What Im looking for is a piece of equipment that that can seperate vocals and instrumental. Nothing super high end, just for experimental purposes.
Thanks a bunch |

Hate to say it - impossible.
Once the independent signals (Instrument and VOX) are blended they form an entirely new sound wave, which cannot be deconstructed.
There is a process called additive resynthesis which emulates a sound by rebuilding it out of raw waveforms, but it's not practical for...anything really, so I won't go into how it works.
Best bet is to pick up a small multitrack recorder (like a cassette based Tascam Portastudio) if you are a musician and want to experiment with songwriting (they're not bad and CHEAP!).
If you run a mac, Garageband is a half decent starter program for non-linear recording, using sounds imported from a variety of sources.
PM me for more details if you're interested. |
