Burning Man 2007

So finally after living in California for 2 years, I was able to attend
Burning Man, which a yearly week long arts/music festival in Nevada desert. This year it was attended by about 50K people.
OMG - words simply cannot describe the kind of festival it is ! But basically, any other festival, whatever it is - Love Parade, Dance Valley, seem boring and irrelevant in comparison.
I never imagined that Americans could have an event of such magnitude, but I was sooo wrong: Certain Americans know how to party and organize events, and they can do this at a level that is just on a different orbit than anyone else.
Some highlights:
1) Dust Storm. Visibility, maybe a couple of meters. Temperature 30 degrees C. Despite that, people are partying, in goggles and respirators. Nobody cares about weather conditions. The party is going on !
2) Nighttime. Truck in the middle of the desert. It is playing dark electro house music. One side of the truck is on fire. There are people dancing on the other side of the truck, and on the ground in front of the truck. Also, on the truck, a gorgeous topless woman with huge breasts that has a huge flamethrower, and she fires it whenever there is an appropriate musical moment. Absolutely unreal - Think Grindhouse. I can't erase that image from my mind.
Tons of other highlights as well. Probably not worth describing because it's simply impossible.

I already can't wait for next year !!
PS. interesting fact.. Not only did Oakenfold, Scumfrog, DJ Dan and some other well known DJs played there for free this year, they actually paid for their admission ticket just like everyone else. |

| Looks amazing, I am going to try my best to get out there next year. Did they ever end up catching the person who lit up the man early? |
