+1

I can't guarantee I'll be there, but if I'm not busy dicking around the city I'll definitely stop in before hitting up the Chems.

I'll be there for sure! Hope to unload as many TA wristbands as possible at the Friday meetup too! :)

Any update on our Friday meetup (er, social, not to be confused with meetup in the LoveFest SF sticky thread ;) ) spot and time? If we can confirm the address, I can link this thread to a map so everyone can find it. Hard to believe LoveFest SF is only a little over a week away now!!

The original spot I wanted to do it at is a no go :( I don't really know of any where else with decently priced food and usable decks.
skwallie
we don't need decks at the place. what about o'riely's near ruby skye?
rizo
endless_summer wanted decks so was trying to find a place with that but im up for whatever. was hoping somewhere close to the concourse/1015. I remember Rich mentioning o'riely's after digweed

The only O'Reilly's I could find online is in North Beach? Ruby Skye is only about a block away from my hotel, so something near there would be convenient. I also found this list with some ideas on Yelp.com (not really sure where these places are all at though, and if anyone's been there lately that would help):

Good For Groups

A partial list of some of my favorite spots to meet up with 6-10 people, some bars, some restaurants:

Jade Bar

650 Gough Street
San Francisco, CA 94102
(415) 869-1900

Category: Lounges

Neighborhood: Western Addition/NOPA
Noisy and sometimes too crowded, Jade is still probably the best place for happy hour. The crowd is a mix of young professionals and Hayes Valley Elite, and with three levels, you can really create your own atmosphere. Whether you're a guy or girl, make sure to check out the men's bathroom.

Medjool Restaurant Lounge

2522 Mission St
San Francisco, CA 94110
(415) 550-9055

Categories: Lounges, Greek and Mediterranean

Neighborhood: The Mission

This is one of my favorite places in the Mission these days, party because Medjool is trying to be everything to everyone, and doing a pretty good job at it. During the day, you can stop by and have a coffee. At night, the Middle Easter cuisine is delicious, easy to share, and quite affordable. Upstairs is a very spacious lounge, with plenty of comfortable sofas and seatings, perfect for a birthday party or any large group. There is a nice outdoor deck, and the rooftop is accessible too, a very nice feature when the nights are warm. Geez, there is even a youth hostel attached for weary travellers (or, I wonder for that last minute hook-up, hey Medjool you rent by the hour???).

Fly Bar

762 Divisadero Street
San Francisco, CA 94117
(415) 931-4359

Categories: Bars, Restaurants

Neighborhood: Western Addition/NOPA

As one one my new neighborhood hangouts, I'm a big fan of Fly. There's something of a hipster Cheers feel to the bar, since you always run into someone you know here. They serve some solid food, great pizzas for sharing, and they pour a nice Guinness, and also carry Poppy Jasper (one of my favorite beers of all time, next to Racer 5 IPA). If I had to file a complaint, it's just that they don't serve hard liquor, but you find a way to get by anyhow. My friend Michelle just started doing some curation for them as well, so if you see some stunning art on the walls, that's her influence. Fly's a great spot to meet if you're on the way to a show at the Independent, or even before or after dinner at Little Star, but it's also just a great place to meet up and share good times and bad with old and new friends.

Here's some links for the places I found at Yelp.com:

Jade Bar
Medjool
Fly Bar

We could also meet at the small bar of the Chancellor Hotel (where I'm staying), and then pick a place to go eat. There's a great Indian restaurant a few blocks away down on O'Farrell street (sit on floor- pillows around big stone tables), or another 24-hour Indian place nearby where you order at the cash register and they bring your food out (it's cheap, but can get crowded and is very low on atmosphere).

I'm open to most anything (including O'Reily's if I can ever find it, seems like there are a few), but we should decide soon since LoveFest is less than a week away now!

I'll help look into some places to when I get back from work.

Well, if there are no better ideas, Chancellor hotel bar (433 Powell St., near Powell & Sutter across from Union Square) at 6 p.m. on Friday? Then we could decide where else to go from there. Otherwise, I'm still open to suggestions! :)
