Cheers guys.... Your replies were a lot more friendlier than I thought and have been great help :-)
Just bought myself the Pee Wee Ferris Peaktime CD on my way back home from town and it's gotten me amped to jump back on again. Taking a break sounds like a great idea. My brain was hurting big time last night, it seemed the longer I went the less I could throw down.
Once again thanks a million!!!

| Anytime you lose inspiration listen to some good music, music you love. Ill take a break from making music and then I listen to some really good music and Im hungry again to make music. Also try finding a partner to bounce ideas off of, collaborate. Its like people who go to the gym to workout by themselves, they get half as much done as those who go with a gym partner, even though workingout is a one person task. g'luck |

My thoughts exactly after reading everyone's replies, even Mr Mystery passed on the temptation to flame your ass...something's not right! :nervous:

, once in 4 years?
I've got this feeling once every couple of days for the past 3 years. Whatever you think about your last track (I always tend to think everything I produced more than 2 weeks ago is ), theres almost always something about it that has improved from your last tune. Even if you don't notice it immediately.
You'll bounce back. |

Unless you have some serious deadline, take a break and let the insperation come to you (and not the other way around). |
and do drugs:D
seriously though, from the name of the thread I assumed it was asking whether one is planning to give up EDM in general (and listen to rock, jazz etc) |

| I often spend several hours working on something that comes to nothing. It's not a great feeling. Even worse are the times when you think you're onto something, then take a break and return to find that you really weren't. Still, it makes the times when you do come up with something more rewarding, and it's always nice to have a bit of quality control instead of going along with any old crap. |

If you're not very good at playing by ear yet, try to learn that by practicing with a keyboard. That will help you get a "feel" for the music and make a better connection between hands, instrument, and brain / emotions. |

Very often.
What's really annoying, if when you have an idea in your mind, but you're just unable to turn it into something real, no matter how hard you try |

| This is why I actually gave up.. I realised I had no talent whatsoever to make music, and spared the world from more horrific sounds. |
